History
Since April 2005, NK Networks & Services GmbH has been part of VINCI Energies Deutschland GmbH. The company brought with it a rich company tradition with 20 years of experience working with networks.
Founded over 100 years ago as “Carlswerk” by Felten and Guillaume in Cologne-Mülheim, the company later changed its name to Philips Kommunikations Industrie (PKI) and began its entry into the network business in 1985.
In 1993, the company was sold to NKF Holding N.V. in the Netherlands. At the behest of the Finnish group Nokia, which at that time held a majority share in NKF, the company was renamed Nokia Kabel GmbH.
In 1999, two years after the merger of NKF and the Draka Group (also headquartered in the Netherlands), one of the business centres of the group became NK Networks & Services GmbH. As an independent Draka subsidiary, the new company quickly established itself as an important IT solutions provider in the German market − for services covering all aspects of networking to enable secure and smooth business operations.
